Pop culture has been a widely used subject of graphic design and continues to be to this day. Many examples exist and an example that springs to mind is Olly Moss's Paper Cuts. A series of (mostly black, except for colours particular to specific characters) silhouettes of famous characters and icons from films and tv shows (live and animated). This is a fantastically simple concept and yet Olly Moss was the only one to go ahead with it, or to have the vision to complete it. Below are a few of my favourites and a link his blog which has the enitre collection.
Reservoir Dogs
Link, central character to Legend of Zelda videogame
Don Vito Corleone, of The Godfather

Perhaps I could do something like this, with an A-Z. In fact I could focus on iconic typepography that has been made famous due to these films, with a selection for each letter of the alphabet. I will discuss this further with my tutors.
Another idea that has popped into my head is that of film posters, as I would personally like to collect many classic film posters and ones that I consider are beautiful works of art. Again this needs to be discussed.
