M – Manbags
Manbags as they’ve been ingeniously named are simply handbags, in various forms, for men. Precisely where this trend originated from I’m not sure and whilst I doubt it was a recent innovation, it has only now become quite popular. As far as I’m concerned they serve no purpose whatsoever and are an unnecessary item. As a guy I carry few things on me at all times: Phone, keys, wallet/money, oyster card and mp3 player. So unless I am carrying books and notepads for lectures, a change of clothes if I am staying at a friend’s or other items that I cannot fit in my pockets due to size or amount there is no reason for me to carry a bag around. Obviously bags are a practical item due to the previously mentioned reasons; however they are acceptable in the forms of a backpack, satchel or holdall. In my eyes, as soon as you affect an item that belongs to a woman as part of your attire or outfit then you look like an idiot and the only reason you would choose this style of bag is purely for aesthetics. Admittedly whilst sporting a backpack you may look like you’re on your way to school but it is far and above more practical and masculine than these current ‘manbag’ designs. Even worse is the introduction of clutch bags for men, which seem amazingly impractical for women let alone the male population. Once more I wouldn’t be surprised that the contents of these male clutch bags could easily be stored in the pockets of your trousers, jeans or jacket.
Overall I think this is completely pointless.

Never.
